The remains of Australia’s most famous bush ranger have been ID’d after more than 130 years.
The headless remains of Ned Kelly, Australia’s most famous outlaw, have been identified, officials said Thursday, 131 years after the folk hero was hanged for murder and his body buried in the yard of a Melbourne prison.
Scientists used DNA to identify the bushranger’s body, but the whereabouts of Kelly’s skull — which has been stolen at least twice — remain unknown.

Methinks Ned Kelly would make a fine headless horseman. Or maybe his head is off partying with Pancho Villa’s in some frontier partisan valhalla.

Jim,
The legend of Ned Kelly is one of the better ones out there.
Great update on his remains being identified. And I agree, he and Villa would make one scary team of “headless horsemen”.
Years ago I watched the film “Ned Kelly” with Mick Jagger playing the role of Kelly. Actually pretty fine film and Jagger made for an interesting interpretation of Ned.
