Trekked over the misty mountains to retrieve Ceili from Eugene and bring her back home for Thanksgiving. The drive over Highway 126 is a delight to me; a couple hours each way of dense fir-and-fern forest. Listened to Celtic music (which fit the misty, green atmosphere) and a podcast on Iroquois History & Legend.
It was fine, indeed.
Looking forward to Marilyn’s fine feast, games with the neighbors, a couple of hours on the wood pile and a four days of completely checking out of the national circus.
Thank you all for the time you spend at this electronic campfire. Our conversations are a highlight of each day. I am thankful that the work that is such a passion for me resonates with you as well.
I hope your holiday is a grand and abundant one.

Wishing a happy feast to you and yours, Jim. I do have one gripe you should’ve anticipated: no Wyeth art in this post.
Tommy says
Thank you Jim! And the best to you an yours.

Hi Jim,
New to your blog and enjoyed this post. Have you ever checked out https://indigenousability.blogspot.de/. It’s run by Mark Hatmaker who is a legend in the self-defense world. He spends a lot of time on boxing, wrestling and frontier martial arts. Blog is worth checking out, especially the post about primive navigation skills.

Glad you’re here at the campfire, Thad.
That’s a fine bit of synchronicity right there: Tony Blauer shared a post on Warrior Awareness Drills from Hatmaker a couple of days ago on Facebook and I thought ‘I need to explore this guy’s stuff.’ Now this. Gotta pay attention when this sort of thing happens happens. I’ll be on the site this weekend. Thank you.
