It’s strange that they were out of print so long. Lamb was a better writer than many people are better known. His influence on Robert E. Howard was immense.
I think I read his Charlemagne biography while a kid, though.

Just saw LIVE BY NIGHT.
A interview with Ben Affleck followed after the credits rolled.
See it at the theatre if and when you can.
It finds you, but not as expected.
Hold on to that thought.
Took a day off Saturday after seeing Scorsese’s SILENCE on Friday night.
Both of these films are epic in scope. Both are seeped in violence and conflicted souls. Both grab you by the throat and the heart. Both are visually powerful in their own unique way. I know for sure one of these films will most definitely appeal to you.
As for me they both equally did for different reasons. However, never judge a man’s pain ( or pleasure ) …

Also got three volumes of Harold Lamb’s adventure stories. The third Cossack one and the Crusader and Mongol ones.

Live By Night is probably my favorite crime novel. Cannot wait and now I’m even more intrigued.
