Kalashnikov Goes to the Armoury of Valhalla

December 23, 2013, by JimC

In the 18th Century it was the Brown Bess musket; in the late 19th and early 20th Century it was the Mauser rifle: Tough, soldier-proof ubiquitous shoulder arms that could be found in every conflict around the globe.

In the post-World War II era, and right up to today, the Kalshnikov AK-47 has played the role of Everyman’s basic weapon. Its designer, Mikhail Kalashnikov has died. See BBC story here.
