Well, I don’t really have the words to express how pleased and honored I am to have my song Charlie Russell Sky included in Craig Rullman’s forthcoming film on the life and art of Len Babb — and in this video slideshow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNu40_z95Yg
Len’s art is directly inspired by the work of the great cowboy artist Charles M. Russell, and, as Ian Tyson wrote:
When the Lord called Charlie to his home up yonder
He said, Kid Russell, I’ve got a job for you
You’re in charge of sunsets up in old Montana
’Cause I can’t paint them quite as good as you…
Thanks to Craig for including the song, to Keith Banning for the recording work and Lili Worona for the lovely violin, and to Len Babb for carrying on traditions that matter. And thanks to Marilyn Cornelius for dancing with me under that Charlie Russell sky.

Well cut off me legs and call me shorty, now you’re really famous.
smh.com.au has: “Before Gallipoli Australian Bravery was immortalised
at Elands River” for your perusal.

Excellent. Thanks.

Watched The Outside Circle and really liked the song in the closing credits, which I think was The Charlie Russel Sky! As a native Montanan, the art of Charles M. Russell is big! Hope I can find the song on i Tunes!

Thank you Bob.
