This day, June 25, marks the anniversary of the destruction of George Armstrong Custer’s command at the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
Frequent Frontier Partisans commentator Lane Batot says he has a tradition to recognize the date:
“…everbody be shore and CELEBRATE my favorite Nationally Unrecognized Frontier Anniversary Holiday–June 25th, “Little Bighorn Day”, coming up in just a few days!! I celebrate by getting my co-workers ice cream, and they happily humor the occaision for a bribe like that! It IS one of the few times in history where one of it’s biggest jerks got exactly what was coming to him, by the very people who should have dealt it out! Well, that’s MY opinion, anyway…”
Custer’s character and his qualities as a military commander have been a subject for debate ever since he burst onto the scene as a commander of Union cavalry in the Civil War. He aspired to “greatness.” Hard to say he achieved that, but he did achieve lasting fame. So is Lane right? Did Custer have it comin’?

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
Lane Batot says
I do not fear the Spanish Inquisition, for I am always right! I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken……….
