‘Whip My Weight In Wild Cats!”

February 8, 2016, by JimC

Mountain-LionWaugh!

This sounds like something out of a ring-tailed roarer’s brag. “I can whip my weight in wildcats!”

From CalCoast News:

A San Luis Obispo man and former NCAA wrestler fought off a mountain lion that attacked him Saturday evening near a Prefumo Canyon hiking trail. The mountain lion died in the struggle.

He broke the cougar’s neck. That’s badass in anybody’s book.

WAAAAIIITTTT A MINUTE!

UPDATE: Paul McNamee provided the information from KSBY that this was, in fact, a ring-tailed roarer’s brag — and nothing else. A hoax. B.S. From Waugh! to Bah!

Robin Olson of San Luis Obispo claimed he was attacked by a mountain lion Saturday afternoon while hiking in Prefumo Canyon.

Upon further investigation, his claim has been determined to be a hoax.

Officials with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife interviewed Olson on Monday and say he admitted the story was fabricated.

Robin Olson, you are a wanker.

Thanks for the link, Paul. Don’t know why those guys didn’t jump in the pool. I know I can swim faster than a leopard. 😛

Oh yeah, another link informed me about “Resting Bitch Face” syndrome. Some people definitely have that.

Although certainly not impossible, I might have believed this tale better if they had interviewed this person from his hospital bed regarding the “incident”!

This story will undoubtedly enter the world of the Great American Myth and be told as truth by goobers at country stores and urban convenience stores for decades.

Stumbled on to this post via the Frazetta write-up. A supposedly real mountain lion attack where the victim fought back was captured on film in the movie “Buffalo Rider”. Not sure if the sequence was staged or not but the guy who starred in the film seems to be the real deal. He did saddle-break a bison after all.

This creep has, and always will be a pathological liar. I’m so embarrassed to admit I’ve unfortunately known Robin Olson, who was never more than a third rate wrestler at Stanislaus State College (now University), a small non-scholarship NCAA Division III school located in Turlock, Ca since he was 21. This sort of narcissistic sociopathic behavior is standard operating procedure for him. Imagine my surprise and shock when I stumbled across this article and discovered that he’s actually back in country after fleeing to Australia in the 80s to avoid criminal charges. It’s really too bad that the mountain lion story isn’t true; it would’ve been wonderful if she just eaten him and shit him out like the scat that he is.
