Between a folk festival and a major forest fire, I’ve been a bit preoccupied these past weeks, which accounts for my silence here.
Since I have no time for anything more in-depth, I leave you for the week with a piece by one of my favorite artists, the late John Clymer. Back in 1990 saw an exhibit of his work at what is now called The Autry National Center of the American West in Los Angeles. HUGE paintings of the fur trade that you felt like you could walk right into. And right now, I’d gladly do so.
A beautiful thing.

Beautiful? No doubt a very accurate, well done painting, but from an American Indian’s point-of-view(let’s say), this is a very SCARY painting!
