Here’s a piece of outstanding news: The Outside Circle: A Movie of the Modern West will be available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime starting November 21. There will also be DVD availability.
The film has been available through Horse TV for a while, but that’s a limited-access subscriber deal. Most folks have access to Prime. Mark it down and throw down a few plews to watch it. I can say without bias that it is a first-rate piece of work, a labor of love in the truest sense. There’s value here that goes way beyond entertainment and some breathtaking landscape. This is a deep look into a way of life that endures despite modern pressures — a way of life that we need to endure.
It’s wonderful that the film — which was selected for a raft of festivals — will get its shot at a broad audience. It deserves it.

I will throw out a reminder as the date draws nigh.

thanks buddy. long time coming, but it sure is gratifying to see it get out there. a lot of people put a lot of work into making something that can never tell the whole story, but can tell at least a part of it. much appreciated.

Thanks for the reminder, Jim. I watched it again before my Horse.TV subscription runs out. The second time is even better than the first. Truly first-class and deep with meaning. That “heart” runs deep with a lot of my relatives, and a little is left in me too.
The distinction between the cowboy’s view and the ranch owner’s view is finely drawn, and to my mind, not often explored.
I’ll make sure that my buckaroo relatives in Nevada take a look too. They would love it. They are fully off the grid – but we may find a way to get it in front of them when they come to town.

Outstanding. I’ll make sure Craig sees this. He’ll appreciate it.

The first photo looks pretty vintage to me even though it’s quite real and modern. I take it the photographer was going for style? That nostalgic look maybe? This happens to be a great photo and it looks like it coulda been taken back in the 1800s. Not bad for a modern day photo with that vintage look. Way to go!
