The forthcoming Let Him Go is a modern Western, a country noir. The vibe from the trailer is damned close to horror. Looks intense.
“Following the loss of their son, retired sheriff George Blackledge (Costner) and his wife Margaret (Lane) leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson from the clutches of a dangerous family living off the grid in the Dakotas, headed by matriarch Blanche Weboy (Lesley Manville). When they discover the Weboys have no intention of letting the child go, George and Margaret are left with no choice but to fight for their family.”
Based on a novel by Larry Watson, author of Montana, 1948.

Diane Lane … been enamored of her ever since Gus cut the deck for a poke, and she’s every bit as lovely as a grandma.

Larry Watson. I read two of his books, Montana 1948 and As Good As Gone, last year. He weaves exceptional stories that revolve around the battle between good and evil. I think I’ll have to read the book before seeing the movie.

Them Weboys look pretty damn evil. I’m scared of the matriarch already.

The matriarch looks like she eats scrap metal fro breakfast.

I’m halfway thru, and Let Him Go is an excellent book. But it’s dark.
